ABOUT US
Carl and I were married in 1985, and have three children, Joel, Evonne and Carl Jr.. We have also been blessed with two daughters in law Valorie and Sherece, and eight grandchildren, Gabrielle, Makayla, Elijah, Zyion, Eden, Ezekiel, Areli, Hadassah and Noelle.
Carl and I received the Lord in our early teens, and grew up in a predominantly Pentecostal ministry with a focus on healing and miracles, which later became a non-denominational church. We began studying under the Word of Faith ministries in the late 1980's.
Carl has several years of theology training from Deliverance Bible Institute in Newark, New Jersey, Rhema Correspondence School and Victory Bible College in Tulsa, OK. In the early years, Carl was an Evangelist, ministering in tent meetings and churches. I was raised in the church and grew up singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. We have both served in several areas of ministry for over 30 years.
We became Assistant Pastors at Lighthouse Tabernacle Ministry in Staten Island, NY, under my dad, the late Bishop Harry S. Thompson, in the early 1990's. Soon after that we started a radio ministry and were on the air in Mississippi, Tennessee and Georgia for about three years. However, in 1997 the Lord led us to Tulsa, OK, and then to Victory Christian Center where we have volunteered in several areas of the ministry since 1998. We served as Sunday Group Night leaders of the Christian Marriage and Family classes at Victory, and have taught the "Before You Say I Do" pre-marital class for about 10 years. We are currently on YouTube under "Living The Higher Life" and are on T.V. with "Christian Television Network (CTN)",Sundays and Thursdays at 1:00pm cst. We still do Marital and Pre-Marital Counseling.
Carl and I are authors of 2 books: Before & After, published by Harrison House Publishing in 2014 and A Biblical Approach to Marital Counseling published by Xulon Publishing in 2020. Before & After is a pre-marital and after marriage book that was inspired by the Holy Spirit and by the couples we had the privilege to minister to through the pre-marital class. Our Second book also being inspired by the Holy Spirit is to bring Christian Pre- Marital and Marital Counseling back to the Churches, were it belongs. Our ministry focus is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ by sharing God's love and His desire to heal our hearts, our marriages, and our bodies, and to restore unity in the family and in the church.

MISSION AND VISION
The vision of Higher Life Outreach Ministries, is to United the Body of Christ:
First: Beginning with the family teaching the husband and wife how to love one another according to 1 Corinthians 13 chapter and to know each other in the spirit first.
(II Corinthians 5:16; Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh…) .
Preaching and teaching how to walk in the spirit according Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:18; But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. And How the husband should be the spiritual leader of the home and a reflection of Jesus according to Eph. 5 and the wife should be the reflection of the church.
In a world that is trying to redefine marriage, we desire to see the love of God prevail through the example of Christian marriages that are founded on the word of God. We are called to minister the love of God to couples and in doing so, help eliminate a lot of unnecessary divorces in the Body of Christ. Romans 12:2 says that we should not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That's exactly what it's going to take to see God's love prevail in marriages today. This may seem like an impossible task, but God never gives us something that we can do without Him.
God has helped Charity and me turn our differences into opportunities for personal growth and maturity. For instance, Charity likes apples; I like oranges --so we make a smoothie!
Second: To minister healing to the broken hearted. To show how important the condition of our heart is and how it is responsible for the direction our life will take. Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
Isaiah 61:1(KJV) The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Third: To minister healing and salvation to body and soul ; Matthew 9:35 (KJV)
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Romans 10:8-10 (NKJV) But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Fourth: To unite the Body of Christ; according to Ephesians 4:1-6; I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with long suffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. So we can reach the world with the love of God that the world may see that we are one and do love each other as Christ loves the church, and to experience the revival that will usher in the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.
